Christopher’s Award-Winning Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

In honor of National Chocolate Chip Day, Chris is sharing his award-winning (2nd place at the OC Fair) Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.

Ingredients:

 1 C Butter

1 C Sugar

1 C Golden Brown Sugar

2 large Eggs

1 large Egg White

1 tsp Vanilla

2 2/3 C Flour

1 1/2 C Oatmeal

1 tsp Baking Powder

1 tsp Baking Soda

Pinch of salt

11.5 oz bag Chocolate Chips

4 oz Milk Chocolate Bar

Steps:

1. Cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar in large mixing bowl

2. Add eggs, egg white and vanilla, cream together

3. Put oatmeal in blender, blend until powder

4. In separate bowl, mix together flour, powdered oatmeal, baking powder, baking soda, salt

5. Add dry ingredients to first bowl, mix together

6. Grate chocolate bar into mix, mix together

7. Add chocolate chips, mix together

8. Cover batter, place in refrigerator, chill several hours / overnight

9. Heat oven to 350 degrees

10. Remove batter, form into balls almost the size of golf balls, bake on un-greased cookie sheets for 9 to 10 minutes (remove from oven when tops are slightly brown).

Makes 4 dozen cookies (depending on size)

NOTES:

Using the egg white of a third egg makes the batter slightly moister.

Melt butter slightly before using, makes batter easier to blend

Nuts can be added if desired
